prefs and permissions problem: photoshop buggy for user X

27 houdini's

guy with great hairdo
I have problems with photoshop not working when logged on as John:
- i repaired the permissions
-i reinstalled the program
-logged on as a different user (jim) i do not have the problems, the progam works fine

so it seems that somewhere in the user settings of john are messed up. is there somewhere where i can delete the settings (preferences or whatever) for john so the problem is fixed? Reinstalling the program did not solve the problem.

both users john and jim have the same permissions (administrator)
User John is slower and more buggy thann user jim genarally speaking.

anyone???

If John is "slower and more buggy thann user jim genarally speaking" then John's got more than PhotoShop problems.

Try creating a new admin user and see if PhotoShop (and the rest of the system, for that matter) work as expected. If so, you may want to consider moving John's essential files (NOT preference files or settings, since those are probably what's causing the problems) to the newly created user and removing John completely from the system.

You might try deleting the file located at Users > John > Library > Preferences > com.adobe.photoshop.plist, as this may solve some of your problems.

Exactly what kinds of problems are you having, anyway?
