I have a strange problem that I've been googling for a few days to no avail. I've also searched this forum and a few others, so I think I'm on my own, but maybe you guys can help.
As some background info (because I think it may be related) I have VMWare Fusion installed which installs Fuse, some windows/OSX integration app.
Every .exe file i download is previewed in the finder with a static icon. It's the same icon for every file. I don't mind it being the same, but I want to change it to another icon. I already have the new icon, and I can successfully modify the .exe icon per file, but when I download another exe file to save on my HD, it gets the old static icon.
How do I change the icon association for a file type in OSX? Is there a way?
See the screen cap for details. I've updated two icons with a PC Server icon I found on the internet, but each other .exe file has the default preview. Very annoying..
