Preview thumbnail number

I opened some 8 bit TIFF files with Preview and noticed the number 2 on the thumbnails. It isn't a problem, but I'm just curious as to what the number is for.

Make one or more of the .tif files available for downloading?
They are on my HDD. Can you explain what you mean by that?
TIA

He means uploading the image on the web so we can download it, but there is no need for that.

its showing that there is two frames in the image, so I don't think it's a TIFF, instead its probably a GIF.

Correct - I did request that PBear upload the image(s) onto the internet so others could download such, and yes - such file(s) is / are / were needed; otherwise, I would not have asked for such.

And yes, it appears (via the pictorial, and original post entry) that the files are '.tif' (TIFF) files.
Since TIFF files can contain multiple pages, and there is a 'disclosure' triangle to the left of each image in 'Preview's ' 'Drawer', I am of the belief (since I do not have a file or more to actually work with) that PBear's TIFF files contain multiple page images, and the '2' (at the lower right corner of each thumbnail) signifies the number of pages per TIFF file.

Based on icemanjc's entry:

And yes, GIFs can contain multiples pages. Based on such - I downloaded an animated GIF file, and It was dragged onto 'Preview' and viewed in the 'Drawer'.
A thumbnail similar to PBear's TIFF pictorial resulted. The disclosure triangle (the arrow to the left of the thumbnail) was clicked on - and the individual images of the GIF file were displayed - indented below the main thumbnail.

Therefore, PBear - click on the TIFF files' disclosure triangle(s). If you see indented images - congratulations, you have gained access to the individual images of the TIFF thumbnail(s).

barhar,
LOL, I should've read your post a couple more times. Thanks for explanation icemanjc. Uploading a 17 MB TIFF file would take quite a while with my Internet connection speed and with it being iffy at times, it may or may not upload. Anyway, when I clicked on the little triangle another image showed up but it was smaller and looked pixelated. Is that little image a thumbnail version of the original?
