I have been trying to learn more about Preview and using the online tutorials found scattered about (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBWWCYx8HYE ). My Preview does not seem to work like the tutorial examples. When I have a JPEG or PNG open and try to use the 'smart lasso' tool, it will outline the image ok (in red), but when I release the mouse (as shown online) it shows me a black and white dotted line instead of a red dotted line, which is not adjustable for me as described. When I hit return, which is supposed to delete the background (make it transparent), mine does nothing but make an alert sound and outline the whole Preview window. I have checked the preferences to see if I needed to set defaults or something but nothing. Also the tutorials show that you can release the mouse and click again while outlining an image and it should continue the outline. Mine doesn't, if I release the mouse button then try to resume the outline, the previous outline disappears and it starts all over again.
