PREVIEWING PDFs FAST!!!

Has anyone noticed how freaking fast the PREVIEW app has become for viewing PDFs? Well, I have, and it rules. I now use it as my default PDF viewer instead of Acrobat Reader or full Acrobat, which still display PDFs slow.

On my DP 1 gig (old model) scaling, rotating, paging, etc. are all instant, even for complex PDFs. It's finally there.

no, I haven't...the main reason might be that I have yet to install Jag...
But, you are lucky, your dualgig is actually faster than the new dualgig...or so I've been told.

You go to a pdf in the finder. Control-click and choose open info. Then go to the triangle open with and show the info. Set it to use preview and then hit the button change all to make it take effect on all the pdf's you have...

Preview is faster on one-page PDFs, or on raw text, but slower on more complex stuff. Also, what's really faster is the application's launching speed. Reader is sluggish, Preview is correct.

I use preview but yet I'd like one function to it: could Preview open the PDFs at 100% size directly at opening ? This detail's driving me mad, I'm bored with hitting Command-Alt-= all the time.

Well I found that preview really struggles to print a decent sized pdf docu properly. Although maybe thats just on my set up at uni, printing to a windows printer via samba.
