Previewing Pics -- Drag to Desktop

Hey, i used to be able to select a number of pics and look at them at the same time in Preview. Then the ones I wanted to put on the desktop, I'd just drop it from Preview to the desktop. It would give me a Plus sign. Now, after i installed Tiger, I get a "no can do" sign or whatever you call that circle with the line thru it.

How do i fix this? or is this just a part of tiger?
