Print Center/Apple Talk/Printer Probs

Have a problem printing, I currently have my airport linked to my DSL router, as my internet connection the ethernet cable of my printer is linked to my ethernet port on the back of my TiBook.

Configuration works fine to print in OS9, if appletalk is set to ethernet. Printer/internet work no prob.

However in OSX I have turned on the ethernet port in my configuration in the network panel, turned appletalk on, on the ethernet panel, switched it off on airport panel etc etc (many permeation of the same thing, ie both on etc...) But my printer just wont show up in the print center when I add printers, sometimes it says turn on appletalk, even though network panel shows it is turned on, other times it doesn't...

any ideas? anyone?
 
Yup just did the same thing again, but in a whole new configuration and it worked fine... seems to happen quite often with the network panel, like it doesn't really accept changes, although it shows that it does...
