I am having problems with my printouts in Quark 6.1 on a Mac with OS 10.4. I hooked up my Epson Stylus Color 900 to the new Mac and seemed to be able to print with no problem. However, the margin on one side is impossible to fix. No matter what I do--including a change of the paper to the custom size option--it prints out with about a 1/2 inch gap on one side, cutting off part of the image. (This is on regular, 8 1/2 by 11 paper.) In preview mode, the entire layout shows up and the image is not cut off, so I'm puzzled. I downloaded the Epson 900 print driver and installed it, thinking it might help, but that didn't seem to do anything.
I had moved my layouts over from an ancient 3.3 version of Quark on my old G4 with OS 9.2 to the new computer. But on the old computer, the layouts printed out fine. I thought maybe the layout I was working with might be the problem, so I opened another one and still got the same result printing. One thing that might explaint this is a message that popped up when I tried to print the second layout. It said something about the Printer Description File not being installed and that a generic PPD would be used instead.
Does anyone have any advice? Is there something I can download? Is there some well hidden setting for the Epson that I'm missing? Or is it a specific setting in Quark that I'm getting wrong? I'm quite frustrated. Thanks for any ideas!
