I've been having this issue with a few computers trying to print to networked printers. Printers are usually configured via LPD/IP and actually work for the other computers at the same time these other computers are having issues.
This can come and go, but right now the problem is with a G5 1.8 Dual (has also happened with a MacPro). They can bring up the print setup or dialog box but when they go to press "Print" (which is actually highlighted in blue) they simply cannot. No matter how many times you try and click the button, regardless of the printer settings you put in, you cannot press the button. That being said, while this is happening on one computer, all the others will be perfectly fine and print normally with any of our printers. We have a few printers that aren't connected via IP, but the ones we test are definately manually set on static IPs. Like I said, any other computer in the office will be able to print to any of our printers at the same time this one is having issues printing. When the print setup box comes up, it doesn't matter which printer we select, the Print button can not be pressed.
Now this is not to say that the machine freezes. If we cancel out of printing or even while this crazy print box is up, we can do anything else normally on the computer, just not print.
