Hi all-
We have a printer situation at work and it is only the 3 Macs (Power Mac G5) in production in the office. The printer with the associated problem is a Xerox DocuColor 242 with external Fiery EX260 controller. For some reason after setting up the Macs with the appropriate driver for this printer, and when submitting a print job, I would get "Spooling LPR Job, % Complete". The percentage would increase tremendously slow, for just a 2-3MB QuarkXpress or Photoshop file. It takes about an hour to even get close to finish spooling, but craps out.
Things I have tried troubleshooting:
-Performed repair disk permission before and after upgrade
-Utilize driver that is hosted on the printer webUI and the one from Xerox website
-Resetting the printer system
-Deleting the driver from /Library/Printer/PPDs/Contents/Resources/en.lproj before reinstalling drivers
-Utilized Onyx 2.0.6 to rebuild LaunchServices
-Previously they were on OS 10.4.11, I had upgraded them to 10.5.8
The Windows PCs are able print to that printer without an issue. The Macs are able to print to an HP color printer. Weird thing is that we also have a test Mac server with OS 10.5.8, and it is able to print to the printer fine, without any lag.
What else can I check to fix this issue?? Thanks in advance..
