Printing Problems with Tiger

So I just bought the dualcore g5 running Tiger. Sweet. Running into a few printing problems though with my hp2600 color ink. Printed a PDF fine. Full color. No problems. When I try to print from Quark or Indesign, it just starts spitting out paper with code on it. Anyone else have this problem? Now I have to make a PDF for everything, then print. Really frustrating. I pride myself on figuring it out myself...but now I need a higher power. :) Anyone up for the challenge? My brain hurts....
 
Are you hooked up directly to the printer or are you routing through a PC?

I had the same trouble with the same successful bypass before I got proper stand alone network printer.

If I plugged the Mac directly into the printer, the code disappeared and the actual document printed.

It's probably too simple a solution to work, but it sounds so familiar I had to post!

I have it connected directly by the USB port. The PDF prints fine. Simply said, the other programs are having trouble communicating with the print driver, so it's probably a program or driver problem. Thanks for the input!
