Printing problems

Hi guys,

I run Mac OS X with Classic.
My printer EPSON Stylus Photo 900 runs perfectly under OS X, but now I tried to install it under Classic, too, so that I will be able to print from the old Freehand 9.

After inserting the Printer-Software CD-ROM this error appears:
The program "InstallerVISE" could not start, because there is an error in a library: "1<BaseInstaller PPC> <BaseInstaller PPC> <MathLib> <>"

Is there anyone who understands these lines?!?

Bye
Azora

Sounds like your installer cd is for mac os x only...can you go to Epson's website and download the correct software?

if all else fails... usually all u will need to print from classic is the ppd file... if u can copy that ppd file to your puter in with the rest of your ppd files u should be able to access this from the chooser and away u go... if im wrong i appoligize in advance

Hi , thx for your answers

I tried the latest driver from the web and the same window appears...

Now, I installed the driver under OS 8.6 on my old computer where it is running. Then I copied all parts I found to my new one and it printed once, but now the prog crashes down every time I want to print... uuups

Does anyone know how to create a network printer? Maybe thats a solution?

I just looked at your first post again...

I would check to see if your "MathLib" extension is corrupt. If so, try to pull that from your install cd (don't reinstall all software). You could even re-download MathLib from apple's website, I believe. Go to yahoo and look up MathLib for tips...

I saw several references when I checked for myself regarding Freehand and OS X and a MathLib error. The fix was check the "Open in Mac OS 9" check box

Did you do a desktop rebuild of OS 9?

You probably do have a corrupt file which is causing your headaches.
