Hi
Can somebody help me please

i have a powerbook PC G4 running 10.4.6
it's been working perfectly fine until today
WHAT IS HAPPENING
-it starts then stays on the apple logo with the grey background without doing anything, no spining ball no progress bar just the apple on grey.
-I was not able to start in single mode it goes to that same window.
-I was able to start in target mode
WHAT I WAS DOING
prior to that i was installing a software called SideTrack, after finishing installing I was asked to restart the computer which I did and ended on that window with the apple logo with the grey background .
WHAT I TRIED
-starting in Single mode and Verbose mode but nothing happened
-I started in Target mode
i follow the procedure in the readme file that came with SideTrack installer to manually uninstall by trashing the 3 files it had installed (and emptying the trash afterwards)
/System/Library/Extensions/SideTrack.kext
/Library/PreferencePanes/SideTrack.prefPane
/Library/StartupItems/SideTrack
-ran Disk Utility 3 times from my start up disk
-ran Disk Warrior X and got zero errors.

Thank you for your help in advance !

Alexander

What is going on it that some how the .kext file that is what make SlideTrack work is sill in the System folder some where. So the driver is still trying to load. You will need to do a Arcive Reinstall of the OS.
