In my iMac TFT I've got a CD, and a single dual-volume (Mac/PC) Toast image mounted. I also connected my iPod, synchronized it (with firewire disk mode enabled), and then useed iTunes to eject the iPod.
Now, despite the fact that i have trashed the 3 remaining volumes on the desktop, they don't eject. That is, the CD tray doesn't open, even when I press the Eject CD button on my keyboard. The other two volumes, the Toast image, also don't eject, because i can still see them, unmounted, in Disk Utility.
I can't use Disk Utility to eject them either. I choose the logical drive, choose Eject from the menu, and the drive is removed from the list but never ejects (when I re-open Disk Utility up they all pop again, unmounted).
Logging out and in doesn't help, I have to restart the computer, which I really don't want to do just to eject a darn CD.
This seems to happen only if I have a CD in the drive AND my iPod plugged in and in firewire disk mode. Those two things seem to make this problem occur, even once my iPod has been safely ejected. I know a simple solution is simply never to plug in my iPod when i have a CD in, but that's a band-aid I don't want to deal with--they tend to ware off after time
Ideas and/or solutions?
