Problem sending signal to LCD projectors

Hi,

My iBook G4 comes with the standard VGA adapter. My problem is that some LCD projectors just won't show the screen output causing embarassing situations in some presentations I've had to make.

So far, the Panasonic PT-LC56E & Sanyo (not sure which model) projectors don't capture the display.

I thought this should not be a problem w/ macs.

Any possible solutions for this problem?

TIA

It is my experience that Apple laptops do not send video signals to empty video ports. This means that the projector should be connected to the computer when you turn on the computer.

I have never had a problem but one thing you could do is make sure to do a "Detect Displays" from the display status item or the Displays tab in the system configuration panel. It could e that those projectors are old enough that they do not provide a proper DPMI handshake when they are plugged in. But if that were the case there resolution will be really bad.

Oh yeah also some video splitters can cause problems with DPMI stuff as well. But even then I have never had the mac fail to recognize a display when I tell it to go looking.
