Problem with alias

I have a .dmg file and i mount it. It opens fine, i double click the installer but its an alias and not the original program. I did a search in finder with "visibility=visible and invisible" option and it shows the real file. I double click the real file, installer opens but it doesn't do anything. Have you ever seen anything like that?
TIA
Sorry for my poor english...

Supplying more info would be helpful

What's the name of the program?
In searching, where does it show the real program to be? Inside the Disk image?
When the image mounts, you should have a disk on your desktop. Inside should be the program.

The real program is inside the disk image. I mount the disk. I have the disk on my desktop. Inside is the program. I double click it. Installer runs. It does nothing. Installer icon is in the dock. Nothing. The name of the program has nothing to do. I am an IT Pro with PCs 13 years now. It is just an app.
Any Help?

If it's a non-legit app, then there really is no surprise why it wouldn't work.

But giving you the benefit of the doubt, I'd say go back to the source whomever you got the dmg from and download it again, or somehow get it again. If you downloaded from a website there's always that 0.00001% chance that the file got corrupted during the download. Especially if you download via FTP. If the person who uploaded it, was uploading in ASCII mode rather than binary that will cause problems, likewise you'd have the same issue if you were downloading in ASCII mode versus binary.
