Problem with .dmg files

Hi,

Whenever I click on a file to download with the extension .dmg I see the address come up for a second but it then goes away and the download doesn't start. It use to come up and then suddenly start but doesn't anymore, doesn't work on safari or firefox. Anybody know what could possibly be going on?

Whenever you have a problem with downloads, it is a really good idea to state which site gives you the problem.

Basically any time I click on a file which is one which has the extension .dmg. It appears in the addy as I said but then goes away. So it's ALL sites.

dmg is like a compressed image file. If you download a normal does it still go away?with the way your telling your story it only happens in .dmg downloads w/c is unusual. Provide us a link to what your trying to download maybe we can have a better idea what it is. Better yet go to versiontracker or apple downloads try downloading anything there

If I go to this site

http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/thankyou/?installer=Flash_Player_10_for_Mac_OS_X I click for it to download I see .dmg.zip for a milisecond and then it goes away. It's the same with anything that ends .dmg

If I download something from rapidshare or megaupload it comes up and works.
