Problem with Fetch FTP and OSX

Hello,

I am having a problem with Fetch and any other ftp program running under mac osX 10.1.5. Anyone else with this problem? How do I fix?
 
What's the problem? Also fetch's homepage has (or at least last time i was there) great support forums.

Are you behind a firewall? You'll probably need to enable Passive FTP. Check the "Use Passive FTP" box located on the Proxies tab in the Network preference pane. You might have to set this option in the individual ftp applications, too.

perhaps you could be so kind to tell us what the problem was and how you fixed it.

This way if another visitor of the site experiences the same symptoms they might be able to use your advice and fix it too... ;)
 
I didn't change any settings.

I did zap my pram by holding down ctrl. - opt. - p - r at system boot.

I was also experiencing a system power down just after start via apple keyboard.

I am also trying to fix this problem, but the pram zap may have fixed it?
