Problem with Firefox & Quicktime

I'm relatively new to Mac and had just gotten my MacBook for barely a year. Had downloaded Firefox from mozilla.com and recently, had been facing some problems with the firefox. When I view certain sites, the firefox just shut down on its own. Has this got to do with the sites that I'm surfing or does the problem lies with my macbook or firefox?

And I had just updated some of the features in my macbook like quicktime etc. Now, whenever I open some of the websites that will use quicktime to stream music, the music can't be heard at all. Is there any solutions to this problem?

I had run ClamXav and there's no indication of any virus in my macbook. I'm running on OS X 10 by the way.

Many thanks in advance.

Well i had the same problem with firefox and quicktime. dont really know whats wrong with it but i just went on and used safari and all the problems where over. so i think if ut use that u won't have any problems with anything anymore. and well like every site works on safari and quicktime works really good in it.

Since you have 'just updated some of the features in my macbook like quicktime etc.' (where 'etc' is not explicitly listed) - yes, some of the affects of the update(s) may, / may not, be responsible for 'Firefox' (if not itself) and / or 'QuickTime'.

It is general pratice to launch (open, run) 'Disk Utility' ('/Applications/Utilities/' folder) and perform a 'Repair Disk Permissions', at least twice. Such a procedure cures a few installation sins. It may, / may not, in your situation.

To be honest, I've found the same thing for my macbook pro as well. Not only that but I also run linux and when I use firefox there as well and it has the same issue. I've pretty much dismissed it as a problem with firefox that I hope is fixed soon.
