problem with IE update

Don't Tread on Me!
I updated the new IE update 5.1.4. Yet everytime I click update in system preferences, It tells me to update to this version. What is wrong? Anyone else? Is this just another piece of Microshaft shite? Probably the last, yet I felt inclined to ask anyways.

Thanks.:)

Yes, it is another security patch for IE. If you installed the update through Software Update, it should be fine. If you updated it manually (by downloading the package), it will be fine but the Software Update may not realise you have already updated if the package isn't in the Library/Reciepts folder, which would mean that even though you have updated, Software Update just doesn't know it.

Also, you might have this problem if IE is kept anywhere other than in /Applications/

I checked MS's site, and it is apparently a fix for an IE bug that meant a site could crash explorer by sending long directory structures to the browser.

I did use software update to update IE. That is why I am confused. Now everytime I open "Softare Update", which is located in system preferences, it tells me to update IE to IE 5.1.4. IE is located in /Applications. So there seems to be a problem with the updater. There is an IEUpdate receipt in /Library/Receipts that has the creation date from when I installed also. So something is wrong. I have a feeling it has to do with Microshaft, because everything else I updated in the same time period is updated and I'm not being prompted to update for them.

Thanks.:)
