Problem with Mail and Safari...

I am using 10.3.2 and the new version of Safari 1.2(v125). If Safari is closed and I click a link in Mail, then OSX opens the previous version of Safari 1.1(v100) to display the link. How can I get it to use the newer version? If Safari(1.2) is open and I click a link in Mail then it opens in a tab in 1.2 as it should. In my apps folder there is only the newer version.

Also, why is 1.1 still on my Mac? Does an update not write over any previous versions?

Thanks in advance

go to Safari-Preferences. How many browsers can you see in "Default Web Browser"? Is Safari 1.2 default? Do you have another partition with an os? Do a disc search for safari and check if you have the app somewhere else as well..

Thankyou...that worked. I did look in the mail prefs to see if you could change the default browser but couldn't find anything there. Never thought to check Safari prefs. I do have another partition with 10.3 on. This is a totally clean install with no updates etc so will still have 1.1 on.

Thanks again :)
