problem with multiple accounts

UC Gundam Freak
i was hoping somone could help me out.

i have 10.1.5 and i have multiple accounts for myself
(admin) and my wife. the problem is that today she
tried to login to her account and she couldnt. she
entered the right password and the login screen
started up as if she could enter her account..
but then nothing else happened. how can i get her data
of her old account and put it in a new account as the
root user (i.e., im not the worlds expert on unix). or,
how can i troubleshoot this problem so she can use her
old account?

OK , here's the easiest way to make a new account and "give" her old stuff to the new account...

create a new account in the user system preference pane...

Delete her old account, it should ask who you want to give her home folder to, select new user acocunt...

it wont let me... it only will transfer to the admin... i guess i will do that and
transfer her stuff by zip disk from one to the other.

Better create a new account as admin, transfer the "user" data o, then give restrictions to this user.
The zip method could led to privileges problems as well.
 
bump....

as it turns out, i cant even open newly created accounts. i just get
the logging in message and the spinning HD cursor and it doesnt stop...

can someone help me??

hmm... i'm not sure but just check this out:

make sure the account u use to access other accounts (is it admin?) belongs to the "admin" and "staff" (this gives administrator priveliges) group as well as make sure that all newly created accounts belong to the staff group! (They should be!!)

if its is not you will need to change them likewise

PS: use /Applications/Utilities/NetInfo Manager
