Problem with new eMac

Hi!,

My brother got a eMac for Christmas and when we plugged all the wires it wouldn't start! :mad: , Just the fan!, And after 2 seconds it got shut down, what is the problem?

And we checked the extra memory which came with it, and tried wihtout it too, but for no help.

Please help me!
 
It's new, under warranty. Call Apple in case there's a hardware problem.
 
Unless we've missed something, like holding down Command-Option-P-R during startup to zap the PRAM....

Otherwise, Agreed. Sounds like you got a lemon. I once got a Performa 6400 for Christmas, and just a few short hours after it was hooked up, it just died in the middle of a game. Adam was sad.
 
That's sucky that the eMac Christmas present is giving your problems - but it definitely sounds like a hardware issue. Time to ring up Apple!
