Problems copying .avi files....

I finally found a Divx player that works, but I can't copy .avi files to my hard drive. Why? Every time I try, just before its done, I get this message that certain parts couldn't be read and therefore not copied, error "-36" whatever that is.

Help, anyone?
 
Err, read from where? Since its a read error, it would help us to know what it is actually reading from.
I've seen this error come up sometimes on cheap CD-Rs. You usually find one drive will read it fine, while the other just can't get past the error.

What do you mean by a divx player that works ? The one from www.divx.com is fine, no ?
