Problems returing from sleep

Hi,

I have a new iBook (4days old) When it goes onto the password protected screen saver, or to sleep etc if it is in that state for a short while its fine but if it is left for a long period of time (doesnt have to be very long!) and i try and resume it the mouse curser appears but nothing else. And if i press any keys it just beeps.

In fact its when the machine goes to sleep or the screen goes to sleep not when the screensaver is on.

Anyone know what could be causing it?

I have found that when the ibook is in hibernation for a long time it wont wake up because the battery is too low. Assuming you have the ibook unplugged when this occurs I would just plug in the AC adapter and it should awake right up.
