Hi,

I recently tried installing proftpd on my macosx operating system. I found a website which I followed the instructions on carefully about editing the conf files and inetd file. But when i tried connecting to my ftp server there was already a ftp c\server called lukemftpd. How can I make this application shutdown and I can run proftpd. maybe someone knows a more elaborate website on setting up proftpd on mac osx with instructions on customization, read and write setting for different folders? Thank you for any help.

Thanks for your advice, but I will stick with proftpd. I would really appreciate help on how I can make the lukemftpd shutdown or not be default, how can I run the proftpd server instead of lukemftpd. Where do I have to configure it?

thanks

The link I posted shows you how to move aside lukemftp and put it back into live status if need be. (The file that specifies the FTP server and its configuration is /etc/xinetd.d/ftp)
