I seem to be having this trouble with finder. I can't look at things in columns or finder will freeze and be forced to restart. When this problem first arose I also realised that textedit had stopped opening. Also I seem to find a file that keeps appearing in my macintosh hd called ms crashstate. My initial response was to reformat the computer but everytime i put the CD to reinstall it the computer freezes. I also attempted to reformat my computer using 10.2 but that didn't work either. I am currently using OS X 10.4.7 and i am on a 17 inch powerbook G4. If anyone knows how to fix this please tell me.
