my printer is attached to my linux PC (IP address: 192.168.0.1) and my iBook (IP address: 192.168.0.2) is attached to my linux machine with the ethernet card.
i added the PC's printer to my iBook with the command: lpadmin -p linux_printer -v ipp://192.168.0.1:631/printers/Printer
linux_printer now shows up as an option in print dialogues and also in the cups web configuator (http://localhost:631/printers). when i try to print something with the command: lp .bashrc, i get the error: lp: unable to print file: server-error-not-accepting-jobs and when i try to print something in TextEdit, i get "Print: Error while printing".
the annoying thing is, i can print a test page from the CUPS web configuator (http://localhost:631/printers).
what's going wrong here?
