I love my mac, I really do.
The world would be a better place if everybody had one but unfortunately they don't and some people still have Windows pc's.
A shame I know but true.
My problem is that these poor Windows users have problems reading my emails.
The text font is different to the one that I see in my mail, the £ (British Pound sign) appears as a ? (question mark) and embeded attachments just don't appear at all.
What can I do about this between now and when everybody owns a mac?

Really this is causing me a serious problem.
Windows pc cannot read emails that I have written on my mac.

Open up Mail.app and then go to the menu item "EDIT". Under "EDIT" select 'Attachments' and then select 'Always Send Windows Friendly Attachments'.

Thanks, I did that and it does help with attachements but does not solve the text font problems or the embeded jpg files problem.

I want to be able to see on my screen what the Windows user will see when they get the mail and I need to show the £ (pound sign) and not the ?.

Any more ideas?

The fonts issues have to do with Microsoft. The default XP setup only has so many fonts. You might be using a font the the windows users don't have. This is only a guess.

I have thought of that and have used basic ariel text to try and get round it but still get different text font on in the Windows pc, ? instead of £ and ? before and after a hyper link.

Check your Mail's Preferences to see if you are sending in 'Plain Text' rather than 'Rich Text' (in the 'Composing' preference' pane). Anything other than that, I am out of ideas. Sorry.

Okay plain text rather than rich text seems to work.
But this does stop me from adding colour to the text but hey ho, you have solved my main problem of charging my customers ?200 instead of £200.

Thanks for your help.
