processor cards

Has anyone used a Processor upgrade card? What is the deal with them? I have a 867 mhz powermac, thinking about a new one, also thinking about upgrading the processor. I am not sure since Apple doesn't support these cards, I am wondering if they work correctly, etc?

Why even upgrade? That sounds like it would be fast enough, unless you want dual processors or something.

I have a G4 350MHZ and all my programs work fine... what are you using your mac for????
but if you whant my oppinion try to buy a new machine instead upgrading...

I am just curious, I am very happy with my Macs speed. My intentions are to see the options available to this Mac. I don't plan on buying another one until fall.

I upgraded my G4/450 with an 800Mhz GigaDesigns upgrade card. Dropped right in place of the old proc, and everything worked as soon as I turned the power on. It's also now running overclocked at 900Mhz, so doubled my speed on the cheap

I'm about to switch my 466 G4 card with a 800 G4 card... any advice before I do it? It's the same bus speed, so I imagine it is compatible...

I had a 733, and got a 867 card from ebay, works great and took no time to install.
