Hi! I have a 15" 1.5 Ghz AluBook and would like to know how much this setting reduces the speed of the processor Does it cut it in half? What parameter does it use to reduce the processing speed?

Yes, that's essentially what it does. There are no parameters (that I know of) that allow you to change the speed of the G4 processor. Its either full speed, or half the speed. Also, the G4 doesn't dynamically change its clock speed depending on the CPU load, which is something the G3 does.
