Programs open 3 times, then refuse to open.

I just got my Powerbook G4 last week :) and have installed only two programs: Flash MX and Final Draft. Flash MX installed without a problem into OS X while Final Draft installed just as easily into Classic.

Both programs opened successfully about 3 times each but after that both programs now refuse to open :(

Whenever I tried to open Flash MX, a pop up window would say "The Serialization Dll/Lib does not exist." Could this be a Macromedia authentication security measure? My copies of Flash MX and Final Draft are not pirated and are owned soley by me. Final Draft did not give me any pop up window clues as to why its not opening up anymore.

The behavior of these failed installations are remarkably similair (Successfully opening 3 times before refusing to open altogether) :confused:

I trashed my Flash MX program and plan to reinstall it. I am now trying to decide if I should also trash Final Draft but I have an aching feeling that I'll just experience the exact same thing after reinstalling them both.

There is another strange problem I'm having. Whenever I type in an address and hit return in my Internet Explorer program, a pop up window informs me that "The Specified Server Could Not Be Found." Then whenever I try the same address for the second time it always works. This worries me that I'm experiencing bugs all over my computer, not to mention the fact that this is very annoying :mad: None of the TOP 10 JAGUAR BUGS featured in the February Macworld addressed these problems.

Hmmmm...:confused:

Any ideas or advice?
 
Final draft 5 installs and runs in classic only, version 6 will run under OS X. There may be a conflict between Final Draft and Flash MX? Nothing at the Flash support site about this, but Final Draft certainly has authorization issues. Do you have up-to-date versions of your software? Final Draft should be vers 6.0.5.0

I was instructed by Final Draft to download and install the 504 updater in order for it to work with Mac OS X. I did this and it worked (but stopped working after opeining it three times).

As for conflicts between Final Draft and Flash MX... how do I find out if there's a conflict between them?

My Power Book is brand new and the Apple Support discussion board says my problems are not normal. I've been told to use the First Aid on the Disk Utilities but I'm sure the same thing will happen unless I get to the bottom of what caused it all. The Macromedia website isn't very helpful. Final Draft seems to have given me the solution but who knows? Maybe they're the culprit after all. I'll keep trying but this is a real drag.

I get this too... a lot. Sometimes, I click "Back" and it says it doesn't exist, so I push "Forward" and "Back" again and it loads. My advice: don't worry about it.

For Final Draft and Flash, I don't know what to tell you. I suggest you uninstall both, then try running one of them as much as possible, then the other, with only 1 on at a time. See if that works.
 
It won't hurt to run repair persmissions from the First Aid tab in Disk utility, possible that would help you. Seems a good plan to run repair permissions after just about any major software install. Don't be nervous about trying some simple maintenance tricks, such as the repair permissions. That may be all that's needed. :) Also, you have a system that won't boot to OS 9; if you use Final Draft for anything more than personal use, suggest upgrading to vers 6 for better compatibility with OS X.

I'll go throught the disk utilities First Aid and upgrade my software and try again.
