Proxies....more than one

I have just connected my mac to a LAN which requires proxies to be entered. However, in their setup instuctions (pc only) they refer to entering a configuration script (proxies.config) which can be found on their server.
I downloaded this file and opened it in TextEdit. There are several proxy addresses for each protocol, however I can only enter just one address in the Network preferences.
At the moment I am just using one of the addresses provided but this seems to be running into problems, not all pages are updating correctly, old pages are being cached.

How can I enter multiple proxy addresses for each protocol?

Apple's nugget of help for this is 'If you're not sure which proxy servers to use, ask your network administrator' If you can't get any workable information from your network administrator, you should experiment with the various server addresses, use the one that works best for you.
If I remember correctly, the proxy server would cache the web pages for you. There would be a way to flush, or force-load web pages. You may need some kind of entry in all the proxy protocols, depending on how the proxies are setup. There might be one proxy setting which gives you the best results. Have you tried changing the 'Use Passive FTP Mode' setting to see if that helps at all?
