Proxy error with Firefox

I went to work at a school recently, and to allow me access to the internet they messed with all my proxy settings. Now, I am back at home an I can't use Firefox to access the internet as I keep getting proxy error message.

I have tried to turn off all the proxy settings, but still no joy.

Can you tell me how I should proceed?

Did they also set up the proxy settings in the Network pane of the System Preferences?

Why not create two Network locations: one for school with proxy information entered, and another location for home without proxy information? That way it's as easy as changing locations in the System Preferences when you go from home to school and back.
