Q: Copy Users Home folder

I'd like to duplicate the home folder set up on my work machine on my home machine.

Is it possible to simply do a finder copy or is it necessary to reinstall all my 3rd party apps?
 
There should be no problem. Your apps keep their preferences, including your email inboxes and so on, in the Library folder of your home folder. There are no registry hassles like you have with Windows. So, as long as the apps you intend to use are installed, you should have no real trouble just copying the folder over.
The only real problem is what you end up with is a COPY. Changes made to the copied files won't affect the originals.
