Hi all,

I have a question for everybody.

Will a good graphic card boost Mac OS X preformance?

I feel like my mac is slowing down because of graphic card.

I can see that when I work on the photoshop with large size of file.

Has anybody see difference after replace old one with new graphic card?

My mac is DP 500 with 768 Mb ram with ATI 128 Pro graphic card (I know it's old).

Thank in advance.

The only one I've read to be faster, supported by OS-X and PCI based (you Mac is PCI, isn't it ?) is the Radeon 7500. I don't know if it's faster.

DP 500 is AGP. You can get the latest nVidia or ATi Radeon AGP graphics card. It'll enable Quartz Extreme and speed up Mac OS X' GUI quite a bit.

You can get a ATI Radeon 8500 AGP 64mb SVGA/NTSC_at SmallDog.com for 195$, for example:
