Quake Arena console?

I'm running Quake 3 Arena 1.30b1 in Mac OS X.1 and I can't get the console down, I've tryed all the buttons on my keyboard and still no console.

Does anyone know what is wrong?

Your problem indicates you don't have an american keyboard! The problem is easy to go around, just change your keyboard-layout in the International control-panel to American!
