question about macbook power options...

is there any way to make it so when you close the laptop it does nothing to the laptop but turn off the screen. i like to have my laptop running when my monitor is closed :( ( i like to have AIM and downloads going overnight without having to keep my screen open)
 
AFAIK you have to have a keyboard, mouse, monitor and power supply plugged in for it to work that way....

For me i dont know how. but for now, all i know to turn off the brightness to save my battery, that will be your Brightness to O. press F1 repeatly until the brightness is gone. but you still can see the screen but the light is off.
