Questions about Upgrading to Tiger.

1. When upgrading to OS X Tiger, will my programs need to be reinstalled?

2. I have a 1GHz PowerPC, 768RAM PowerBook G4. Would it be wise to upgrade my RAM to 1.25Gigs?

3. With my current setup, will Tiger lag?

4. Will Tiger cause my powerbook to heat even more so?

1- No, not if you just do the upgrade. If you do a clean install, then yes.

2- OS X likes memory and will run better with more memory, but your machine will run ok with 768

3- No

4- No, doesn't cause mine to heat up anymore and mine is older.

Tiger ran OK on my iBook with 500 of RAM. I've upped that to 1GB. Difference in speed for the general home use is not great.

Also runs well on the desktop Quicksilver - 933MHz and 1GB Ram (was 500 too) - again not a huge speed increase.

You should be fine!
