Questions regarding transferring of info (and #?) to new iPhone 3G S

Greetings,

I currently own an original iPhone, and I hope to own an iPhone 3G S tomorrow.

Am I correct to assume that I should simply sync my current phone, place my new phone in the cradle, and sync in order to transfer all the data (including pics from Camera Roll and all contacts) to the new phone?

What about my phone #?? Will the Apple store be able to transfer my current phone number to my new phone? Or will I have to make a trip to AT&T for that?

First sync your old iPhone with your computer. Then plug in the 3gs and sync it. I don't know about number transfer, you should go to AT&T for that.In the UK it's only possible within 30 days of owning the iPhone, not sure how it works in the US.
 
You can just use the same sim card in the new iPhone 3GS.

In the UK any 3G O2-UK Sim works in any iPhone, So i'm guessing it's the same with the american ones.
