Quick iBook HDD Question.

Chazam

Apple Virgin
We've recently got our iBook back from repairs and it seems they've fitted a 60GB HDD instead of a 30GB HDD!
It's this hard disk.
Seagate Momentus 5400.2
Model Number:ST960822A
Capacity:60 GB
Speed:5400 rpm
Seek time:12.5 ms avg
Interface:Ultra ATA/100

What is the 30GB HDD that was in the iBook G4 as standard?
Is this one better (Not capacity wise)

It's nice to get a free upgrade! :D

Quick answer: I'd say capacity wise its definitely better, and being a more up-to-date drive will likely make it better in terms of speed as well.

The only thing I can say beside that is that the 30GB drives fitted to the iBook G4 used ATA-66. That may mean that the new ATA-100 drive is faster, or it may mean that it is not actually running at its best possible speed, but either way, I'd be happy.

Any way of testing if it's funning ATA-66 or ATA-100?
