What do you mean with "edit"? Cut it out? First off: you sure you have Quicktime Pro? By default, all users have Quicktime NON Pro, which won't allow you to edit any sequence. You will need to buy a Pro licence to use the Pro options such as converting into different formats, fullscreen view..
Also: what os are you using and which qt version?

and why don't you try with iMovie? i had a problem with a movie for a presentation, and i was able to cut away what i didn't need...

I can't open It with iMove?

EDIT :: I can't open It with iMovie bcause the size of the movie I want to edit (about 2.5GB) is too big. Is there another program I could use to edit?

if you specify what you mean by "edit" we will think of something. ;)
If it is, as your title says, just to cut out that sequence, quicktime pro will do the easiest way. My quicktime pro allows me to cut out marked sequences. Maybe 2.5gb is a too high amount of data for quicktime to handle. Why don't you test on a smaller movie just to see, if you have a general problem with cutting out sequences or if it has something to do with the size.

Where is that track at? looks fun. I ride at Ridge meadows in canada....

I am assuming you want to Trim your movie or copy and paste into a new one? is that option available under edit? if not go into your preferences-registration and make sure the code is still there. maybe a corrupt pref file killed it.

I have a movie that 75GB in size and I am first "cutting it" into pieces with Quicktime and then bringing those pieces into iMovie. Still admit the largest section hasn't imported successfully, but that's before I had 1GB memory in iMac and I need to just stop doing other things while importing. :)

I forgot to mention that using Quicktime you aren't actually cutting the original movie but "marking" it and saving separate files out so you can bring those into iMovie.
