Quicken 2005 for Mac - buggy?

Is it me, or is Quicken 2005 for Mac buggy as all heck? For example, it asks me to register online every single time I use it, even though I had registered. 2nd, my bank's download options only work when I choose the Windows file format options and fail when I choose Mac. 3rd, I get a no new transactions notice when I KNOW there are tons since my last download. 4th, it tells me there are unaccepted items in my download window, but I have no way to get to that windoe and it did not appear (as it should of) after my latest download. It is really frustrating and calling the barely English speaking Quicken Tech Support is no help, especially when they want to charge you $24.00 for the call to fix, what I am almost certain, are there issues.

My Mac and internet connection are fine. I'm really frustrated at what appears to be a half baked approach to supporting Mac users. I mean, do it right or leave us alone. I'm no shopping for new banking software and/or I may just try my older version again.
 
As far as I know, Quicken for Macintosh has always lagged behind the PC counterpart and has always had glaring bugs in the way it operates.

Although those links don't cover the extent of the problems that people experience (including calculation bugs that simply return/display wrong values sometimes), there is hope that it will get better with future releases. I hear that 2005 is a big step forward, but still lags behind the Windows version.

I would suggest checking out some of MYOB's products... they seem to get decent reviews for the Mac platform:

Thanks ElDiablo!! Yes! You know, I worked with MYOB some time ago (like 1993) when helping out a friend who was running a small business. I completely forgot about it. Well, glad to know it isn't just me. The bugs are annoying and my bank being bought out by Bank One didn't help things either. My problem occurs when you go to download something from an account and for some reason Quicken thinks there is no data when there is. The download window (that lists transactions to accept or not) does not pop up, but Quicken "thinks" you have unprocessed transactions. When this happens, you can kiss that account goodbye and you have to resort to exporting it, then importing it and resetting your online options. If not and you try to download transactions to that account again (or eveb disable the online access to it to start over) it tells you, "You still have transactions in the download window", but the download window is not visible and the only way to get to it is to download transactions! Your stuck! This export/import option is what Quicken told me they were going to walk me through for a fee, but I hung up before he charged me the $24.00! I will not pay to be walked through a lousy bug fix!

What I am doing now is using my banks site to download a quicken readable file of my latest transactions, then open that file (double click on it) which will then launch the "download window" in Quicken. It seems more stable, and is really only an extra click or two, but it sure would be nice if it worked right from Quicken (reliably) the way it is supposed to.

Perhaps all these Mac Quicken bugs have an extra benefit - NOBODY can hack into our account data! :-)

P.S. Quicken for Mac could not connect to my 401k at Fidelity - there was actually a message in either Quicken or the site that Macs were not supported. Like your link said, what gives here - it is just data? Why should that be such a problem?
