Whenever I cut a bit from an MP3 file with QuickTime Player (Pro) and save it to a new file, import it into iTunes, it cannot seem to be copied to my iPod. How come? Does anybody know what I could do to make it a 'real' MP3 file again? Or does anybody know what happens to my MP3s when I edit them with QuickTime that shouldn't happen?

My guess is you need to export that to AIFF then edit it then encode it again. You could also check Version Tracker to see if someone has an MP3 editor.

I have no problems when I throw ProTools edited files (mp3) and throwing them back into iPod. (ProTools uses the QT engine as well).

So it must be something else you did in the editing process.. test them out again.

Maybe you just need to select the file, get info, and change Open With to iTunes so it knows it's an iTuens file.
