Quicktime opens a new window every song

every song i play quicktime opens a new tiny little player and i need to hit play every time, cant i make it more like winamp where it was one main player window that played songs right after i double clicked the mp3
 
There might be an auto-play option in preferences. Otherwise, maybe you want to set iTunes as the default application to open MP3s and then they will. Or, perhaps you'd be satisfied using Quick Look in the Finder instead by selecting a file and pressing the spacebar.
