Quicktime Player Won't Work

hi there

I'm using a BW G3 and am running osx10.3.9 and am very happy with how it's all running - except for quicktime player.

everytime i follow a link to a quicktime movie i want to watch, or quicktime vr file - any quicktime at all really, i get a big nothing - no broken links/images, no spinning beach ball, no sign of any life at all, or suggestion that my mac is even accessing a qt file. all i get is the "download quicktime here" standard message, or "it appears you do no have the latest version of qt..."

i did have qt 6 (i think) and accidentally downloaded 7, then tried the 6 reinstaller but couldn't get it to work and gave up. and yet i have the qt logo in my dock...

does anybody know what i can do???

many thanks

You clearly screwed-up your QuickTime Player application. You might try looking into /Library/Receipts/ for the files named QuickTime7xx.pkg. Drag them to the Trash and then try reinstalling QuickTime 7.

whoops -sorry for multiple post - it may be a really dumb thing to have overlooked....my BWG3 is a 350 mhz - i notice qt7 is for 450 or faster:o
