is there any good way to extract the audio from a .mpg into an .mp3 .wav or .aiff?

Actually, I've tried using Cleaner to demux mpeg files, and I find it doesn't work that well.
The easiest way, I've found, is to use bbdemux. It will allow you to split mpeg files into audio and video tracks, or, you can just save the audio (which your trying to do) or save just the video.
