Hi all, I'm thinking of upgrading the Radeon 8500 in my Gigabit ethernet (1.5Ghz) G4 to a 9800 Pro. I've looked all over for comments on whether or not this card gives much better performance than the 8500 on an AGP 2X machine, but haven't found much. Can anyone give me an idea as to whether it's worth it? Thanx much.

Actually I looked at that one. I wasn't sure it was too relevant since the Quicksilver is (I think) a 4X machine.

Yes, it is a 4X

I guess you have a processor upgrade card.

Whats wrong with your 8500 card?

I have that card is a 2X machine running dual monitors.

For the most part it runs great - just rather choppy in some newer games. I've been looking at the 9800 for a long time, but didn't know if the 2X graphics on my machine would be a bottleneck.

Not sure, but I would think it would be better.
