Ram DISK?

There are no options to create a RAM disk in OS X. I don't know if it is planned for the future or not.

I doubt there will ever be any easy way to create a ram disk on OS X. The whole purpose of a RAM disk is to cut down on disk access by keeping everything in RAM. But OS X's memory management already does this. The OS will keep a fairly ideal set of files, etc. cached in memory, so having a RAM disk is really unnecessary. Any memory set aside for a RAM disk will only take away from the memory the OS can use for this purpose The OS can almost always do a better job than the user in figuring out what information to keep in RAM, so its for the best that all this is left up to the OS.
