Rather complicated question

Hi everyone,
I am trying to solve this for a friend/co-worker of mine.
She recently took out an internal hard drive from her old macbook g4. i got her to buy an external enclosure and put the drive in there and hooked it up to a mac at work (Leopard, Xenon processor)
She mounted it on her work computer and we are both trying to find out how to access her files from it. I've got the option that lets you view hidden files and folders enabled (did this through the Terminal) and basically we are looking for files that were on her DESKTOP, DOCUMENTS, and MUSIC. I have searched for a while but to no avail. Anyone know how to access these files on an external hard drive with a mac os already on it?

Thanks!!

You don't say whether or not you can see the external drive. Assuming that you do, then locating the files should be simple. The drive should be mounted on your Desktop:

  1. Double-click to open the external hard drive icon.
  2. Double-click Users.
  3. Double-click {Your friend's user account} folder.
    • To access files on the Desktop, double-click on the Desktop.
    • To access files in your Documents folder, double-click on Documents.
    • To access files in your Music folder, double-click on Music.

yes i can see the external drive.
thanks for this tip. i will let my friend know about this and see if it worked out.
